Project Overview
Behavet is a leading remote veterinary behavior practice founded by Dr. Tom Mitchell. Their mission is to demystify dog behaviour and foster better communication between dogs and their owners. As the number one service of its kind in the UK, Behavet operates entirely remotely, serving clients worldwide.
Behavet approached me to redesign their website to better serve their direct clients as well as veterinarians. They needed a professional, polished, and user-friendly platform that reflects their evolution as a business while preserving the personal touch of their early days. The website was to be built on Kajabi, ensuring seamless integration with their existing tools and processes.

The Problem
The existing Behavet website faced several challenges that hindered user experience and conversion rates. Navigation was awkward finding the relevant information for new and existing clients was difficult. The visual language was also inconsistent which further muddied the waters. One major issue was the difficulty in locating the vet portal, a key feature for the business. Additionally, visitor drop-off rates were high, particularly above the fold. Many users left the site before exploring further or beginning any user journey, such as signing up for a consultation or connecting with a sales representative.
Ideation, Site Map and Information Architecture
To address these issues, we began collaborating on a comprehensive site map. This laid the groundwork for a well-structured and intuitive website. The site map helped us clarify the content and navigation flow, ensuring that users could easily access the information they needed. Then using the site map as a foundation, we created a detailed document outlining the content for each webpage, including strategic placement of CTAs.

Low Fidelity Wireframes
We initiated the design process with low-fidelity wireframes, focusing on layout and content placement without visual distractions. These preliminary designs allowed me to test and iterate on the structure before diving into the visual details. Once we finalised the layout, I transitioned to high-fidelity wireframes, incorporating more detail and functionality to represent the final product accurately.
Site Build
After finalising the design, I transitioned to the build stage, working in a new design environment for me: Kajabi. Kajabi is a platform specifically designed as an all-in-one service for building websites, managing online content, and creating marketing funnels. While it offers a range of tools for streamlining the process, it required a significant amount of customisation and tinkering to achieve the polished and professional look Behavet needed. Adapting to this new environment was a rewarding challenge, as it pushed me to explore its capabilities and creatively solve issues to align the build with the design vision.
UI Design
The UI design phase focused on establishing a cohesive and visually appealing aesthetic. We created a consistent set of design elements, including headings, button states, and a carefully chosen color palette that reflected Behavet’s brand identity. These components were crafted to enhance usability and create a seamless user experience.

High-Fidelity Key Screens
The final design phase involved creating high-fidelity key screens, showcasing the polished interface and its functionality. These screens demonstrated how the completed website would look and function, ensuring alignment with Behavet’s vision and objectives.
Reflection
This project was a valuable learning experience that deepened my expertise in several areas. I gained experience in both UI design and implementation, as I handled the full process from design to build. Using Kajabi introduced me to a new environment, broadening my skill set in website development.
Looking back, I recognise the importance of having access to more comprehensive statistics and user data at the outset of the project. This information would have enabled me to make even more informed decisions and develop optimised solutions tailored to user behaviour. Despite this, the project was a rewarding challenge that honed my ability to deliver cohesive and user-focused designs.
